I think, it would be great if I share my day with you guys as it was full of new learning and experience. I had a chance to visit the TIE Entrepreneurship Summit 2007 today at Taj palace. It was a mega event with ICICI, KPMG, Infosys as lead sponsors. There were number of other sponsors in the pipeline looking to capture a blink of every other’s eye. Milagrow- the organization that I work for, was one of the sponsors’ and mentored in-depth mentoring sessions during the day. We came across a plethora of ‘budding entrepreneurs’ from diversed backgrounds/industries, aspiring high to make it big. It was great talking to these people and learning about their businesses and business models. The one thing which really strikes and fascinates me is the ability of these YI (Young India) entreprenuers to take risks and their ability/vision to look beyond. The objective of their visit at Milagrow mentoring sessions, primarily revolved around their businesses at start up and scale up levels. Some were looking forward to develop Go-to-market strategies, others were looking in for developing an effective sales team, a persuading business model for survival, growth and creation of orientation skill set.
Besides all of these mentoring sessions, I got a chance to attend sessions on Social entrepreneurship, Lifestyle entrepreneurship (basically on Green energy) and a retail session headed by Technopak, Raymonds, Reebok and one more company which I am not able to recall as of now.
Anyways, the day was full of part-time tasks and I am glad that I got this opportunity to see some of the highest authorities in the world of business & entrepreneurship…I will be back with new insights in my next blog…
At the end of the day…the entire summit revolved around just one thing and i.e. How to make money?
